Dubai fest screens 2 Iran movies

2 Iranian films have been scheduled to go on the silver screen at the 14th edition of Dubai International Film Festival.

‘Azar’, ‘No Date, No Signature’ will represent Iran at the Dubai film event.

Produced by Iranian Actress Niki Karimi, ‘Azar’ narrates the story of a woman whose wishes about resisting what the society imposes on her cannot be realized. She wanted to become a champion but problems have encircled her.

'Azar' is Iranian actress Niki Karimi's second production after 'Night Shift' while she has also directed three other movies so far. 

‘No Date, No Signature’ directed by vahid Jalilvand narrates the story of Kaveh Nariman, a doctor who works at the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization. He has to examine the corpse of someone that he used to know in the past.

The movie has so far taken part at a number of international events. More recently, the flick scooped Best Director and Best Actor awards at the Venice Horizons section of the 74th Venice Film Festival, Italy.

Founded in 2004, Dubai International Film Festival is one of the film events in the region which provides greater opportunities for Arab filmmakers and celebrates excellence in cinema. Dubai officials use the event as a medium to promote open dialogue between cultures and nations.

The 14th edition of Dubai International Film Festival is slated for December 6-13, 2017.
